Fox Nation?

Add this to your list of things to be concerned about: Rupert Murdoch's News Corp. Makes Unsolicited $5 Billion Bid for Dow Jones & Co.

I don't know about you but the idea of Rupert Murdoch controlling even more of our national media, including Barron's and the Wall Street journal....well, it's disturbing.

Apparently the employees of the corporation feel the same.

The union representing Dow Jones employees, the Independent Association of Publishers' Employees, was harshly critical of the prospect of being owned by Murdoch, and issued a statement saying that Murdoch's bid was opposed by the staff "from top to bottom."

These Murdoch types do not have the love or even respect for the print media. They tend to see the ownership as getting power, real power, and remaining portion is to make money. They consider the reporters as a money wasting and unfortunate expenses that must be reduced to the bare minimum. This is partially the reason, why the fiasco like the so-called reporting about the war in Iraq got a free ride in your papers. It might be good for Mr.Murdoch but the rest of us will get a big, long shaft inserted in our collective butt holes. Our right to know is under an attack.

This one really does worry me but of course it will likely be shoved under the rug with all the other more titillating news out there.

All I can say is if this move is ignored then I really can't take the "no to Fox" movement very seriously. We're talking about having this clodhopper in control of some of our most prestigious and influential national papers.
